Everything is explained clearly, whether it's the financial issues or the social impact. I've been investing with EnergiseAfrica for 4 years and I'm very happy with the returns and impacts of the projects - so far only one project has run into difficulties over the pandemic period which is to be expected. You do have to be prepared to lose all the money, but if that happens it feels like a donation to charity, so I don't mind. If you aren't prepared to write off the money, then an IFSA isn't the right product for you. Paying money in isn't instantaneous, so make sure you have money in your account so you can invest when a project comes up, as they get fully subscribed really fast. Such a great way to improve lives and cut carbon emissions!
Easy to buy and sell investments with returns much much higher than savings accounts, but much more risky. They are direct investments in ethical and environmental projects so your money is doing good as well as getting a good return. But only invest what you can afford to lose.
Energise Africa is a great way to invest in projects that provide sustainable, green energy to people in developing countries. They are clear about the risks of such investments, as well as the benefits, and are diligent in their research to minimise these risks. My two previous investments have both done well, and I have just placed a third order. Highly recommended!
Easy to use. I've always been a bit wary about putting money at risk, but almost without exception payments have been repaid on time, and the money put into a "wallet" which makes easy to keep the same amount invested and rolling it over to new projects. But you have to be quick as new projects are often fully subscribed very quickly. I like the short time frame; most investments are for only 24-36 months, so money is not tied up for too long.
I'm a long-standing user of Energize Africa so know my way around a bit. It's all straightforward though to make sure that you've read it you can end up downloading the offer document three times. It's simple to pay from your online Energize Africa wallet if you're already an investor.
Energise africa is an incredible organisation doing amazing work. When I invest with them I feel I am investing in something good for the world without all the usual PR from the investment industry. I have been using them for 2 years. Thoroughly recommend. Thanks, Chris
I'm keen to invest in ethical projects, but it's not always easy to know how reliable they are. EnergiseAfrica vet the projects on their platform in advance, and on an ongoing basis, and are very up-front about degree of risk. I have found them to be an excellent organisation to be associated with.
Have used them for a few years to invest in energy projects in developing countries. I find their communications and platform excellent and easy to use. Just wish they offered more funding opportunities. You have to remember any investments are at risk with these loans - the platform is up front and clear about that. In a case where a project I invested in hit the bricks they were good at keeping me updated about what they are doing in response.
If you want to lose money, these are the people for you. A large number of their bonds have turned sour with levels of recovery varying from nothing to not a lot. Some of it can be put down to COVID, but a lot of these businesses seem quite shaky. You could understand this if the interest rates were commensurate with the risk, but they aren't much higher than a fixed interest bank account. By all means invest if you want to support these projects, but be aware it's very likely you'll end up with less money than you started with.
Straightforward to deal with. Very good communication and easy to navigate and understand website.
