College and County

Happy tenants look after the houses they rent, and choosing College and County has been the best decision I've made as a landlord. Having always been a hands on landlord it took a lot for me to hand over the reins, but C&C fully manage everything for me now, including HMO license renewals and all the associated compliance and paperwork, (all now on 5 year licenses). They have found me fantastic tenants, and always given me sound and practical advice. They are a lovely group of people in office and seem to take genuine pride in doing their job well, they have transformed my view of letting agents.

I can only corroborate the comment made earlier by Vittoria, and I'm only giving one star because I can't give zero star. At the end of my tenancy, they also gave my deposit back to my flatmate despite me asking them not to. In spite of Vittoria's example where she lost a lot of money, the agency maintain a head tenant policy that is not mandatory. TDS can pay the deposit back to each tenant separately so there is no reason why this letting agency can't. What is more is that at the signing, the agency did not specifically/properly explain me what the head tenant role entailed. Vittoria's feedback confirms that the agency do know people may loose money because of the 'head tenant' clause but do nothing to prevent this from happening or protect all tenants. In my case they did not even update the TDS deposit information to add my name on it and did not serve me the prescribed information either. Yet when I asked about it they claimed to have done everything in line with the law until I brought in a lawyer. As Vittoria said, STAY AWAY, especially if you are a tenant looking to enter a joint tenancy.

I have been renting for many years, College and County have been by far the best agency I have used both in Oxford and in the UK. The property manager Tabitha was extremely friendly and helpful throughout my 2 year tenancy, really making me feel at home in the property.

My experience with College and County was a positive one. I had two properties to let and the whole process was seamless in both cases. The Oxford staff were friendly and helpful, keeping me up to date with the progress from finding tenants to the actual taking possession. I would rate them highly.

We have been trying to find a flat for our daughter for when she starts uni in September and were really frustrated by the service we got from local agents until I started to speak to Lewis at College and Country. We live in Somerset so Oxford is several hours away which makes it really hard to do viewings made even more complicated with Covid restrictions. Lewis has been so helpful and coped with delays due to travel and has answered all our questions & helped us secure a new home for her as she starts out on the next part of her journey. I had such a positive experience with College and County. While trying to relocate to Oxford, I rang a lot of different agencies, and Ines was one of the few people who was genuinely enthusiastic to find out what I wanted/needed in my search. I felt she really cared about finding the right fit for me as a person, not just as a potential client. Couldn't have asked for a better service, or a more approachable firm!

College and county went above and beyond when we had to unfortunately end our tenancy early . They did everything they could to let the property out and succeeded promptly for us to avoid paying any more rent than we needed to .Over the 5 years we let a property through them they addressed every issue we had quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend them !

We rented with College & County for 2 and a half years and it was a great experience all the way through! Everyone on the team was helpful and kind, especially during Covid stress.
